Personal Identity definition
The professor in philosophy, Eric Olson said in The term “personal identity” means different things to different people. Psychologists use it to refer to a person’s self-image—to one’s beliefs about the sort of person one is and how one differs from the others. In philosophy the term normally refers to philosophical questions about ourselves that arise by virtue of our being people, questions that may otherwise have little in common. Some philosophers use the term more loosely and include such topics as the nature of self-knowledge, self-deception, rationality, and the will.
The writer Raquel Lemos Rodríguez, on the page "The mind is wonderful", published:
At some point, we have all suffered an identity crisis. Since we were little we have been forging that identity little by little. Sometimes, we get carried away by the strong personality of others, until in the end, we manage to discover our own. A unique identity that we will feed positively until the end of our days.
But what happens when we are not very clear about who we are? Sometimes doubts assail us, we feel insecure and we begin to feel that we exist without existing.
Some of the transcendental questions that address we are: Who am I? What Am I doing with my life? Where do I go?
